(2007) focused also in black band remains, which are common in modern nautilids but were little-known in ammonites Surprisingly, after receiving of this publication I immediately found such black bands in Boreal ammonite from the Middle Volgian of Spitsbergen, Laugeites aff. groenlandicus. Specimen figured below bears two such black bands, which coincides with wrinkle layer (see for comparison photograph of the such ammonite coated with ammonium chloride)
