Kietzmann D.A., Palma R.M. (2009) Microcrinoideos saccocómidos en el Tithoniano de la Cuenca Neuquina. ¿Una presencia inesperada fuera de la región del Tethys? (Saccocomid microcrinoids in the Tithonian of the Nequén Basin. An unexpected presence outside the Tethys domain?) // Ameghiniana, V.46, no.4. P.695-700.

The presence saccocomid crinoids in the Neuquén Basin is an important finding since it is the earliest record of Roveacrinida in the Southern Hemisphere and the first record of Saccocoma outside the Tethys. The material was studied in thin sections from the Vaca Muerta Formation and it can be assigned to the genera Saccocoma Agassiz and Crassicoma Sieverts-Doreck and Hess. Radial plates appear on the proximal ramp, while elements of the arms appear in the proximal and distal outer ramp. Dispersed Saccocoma elements are typical of HST, while Saccocoma sedimentary concentrations are associated with the TST.
thanks to Dr. Kietzmann for pdf!
