| BUFFETAUT E., HEBERT F. et REBOURS T. (2010) Un métatarsien de dinosaure théropode dans le Jurassique des falaises des Vaches Noires (Calvados, Normandie, France) // Bulletin Sciences et Géologie Normandes, tome 1, P.49-53. Pdf : http://www.s-g-n.eg2.fr/Documents%20PDF/Buffetaut_2010_Metatarsien.pdf An incomplete left fourth metatarsal, from the Jurassic (probably Callovian) of the Vaches Noires cliffs (Calvados, Normandy, France), is identified as belonging to a theropod dinosaur. The d-shaped outline of its proximal articular surface seems to be characteristic of Allosauroidea, and it is therefore referred to that group. The specimen is interpreted as an element of a carcass which drifted from a land area corresponding to the Armorican Massif. Theropod remains are significantly more common than those of other dinosaurs in the marine Jurassic of the Vaches Noires, but no clear explanation can be provided for this overrepresentation.
