Grigore D. (2011) Kimmeridgian-Lower Tithonian ammonite assemblages from Ghilcoş – Hăghimaş massif (Eastern Carpathians, Romania) // Acta Palaeontologica Romaniae. V. 7, P. 177-189.

Pdf: http://www.geo-paleontologica.org/Acta.vo....ore.pdf

Review of ammonite biostratigraphy of the Kimmeridgian – Tithonian of Ghilcoş Mountain is presented, including both logs of sections with data about ammonite ranges and diagnoses of zones and subzones recognized here. Standard Mediterranean/Submediterranean zonal succession is established; zones are mainly based on ranges of their index taxa (except the “Eudoxus Zone” recognized by its relative position and Tithonian zones, which are not rich in ammonites and). A new subzone Sutneria spinata is recognized at the base of the Platynota Zone. Ranges of some biostratigraphically important taxa are not coincides with those of other areas (so, Lithacoceras ulmense is mentioned from the Tithonian, Hybonoticeras harpephorum – from the “Eudoxus Zone”) and some taxa or some zonal boundaries seems to be incorrect. Among the figured ammonites Aulacostephanus cf. eudoxus (pl.2, fig.3), in my opinion, don’t belong to Aulacostephanids.
