The Bathonian ostracod fauna from Central Poland (Czestochowa region) has been restudied from nearly all ammonite zones. Forty new well preserved, autochtonous species could be documented; some further, presumably new, taxa were kept in open nomenclature. According to the ostracod fauna, the European paleobasin was subdivided during the Bathonian into two paleobiogeographic provinces. According to ammonite data this subdivision existed only in Callovian time. We suggest a sublatitudinal link between thge western and eastern bioprovinces that was present during the Bajocian, became restricted during the Bathonianand reopen during the early Callovian transgression.

PS. This paper was based upon data collected during field trip of the VII Jurassic congress
