| Martin J.E. (2008) Un aperçu de l’évolution des Crocodiliens au Mésozoïque // Bulletin de la Société Géologique de Normandie et des Amis du Muséum du Havre, tome 95, fasc. 2, p. 179-192. http://www.s-g-n.eg2.fr/Documents%20PDF/Martin (2008).pdf An overview of crocodilian evolution during the Mesozoic is presented. The group originated from terrestrial ancestors about 220 million years ago in the Late Triassic. Crocodilians eventually invaded aquatic ecosystems during the Jurassic. The following report aims at highlighting the morphological diversity encompassed by that group through a presentation of the variety of adaptations within Crocodilians. Though the few extant crocodilian species are restricted to a semi-aquatic lifestyle, the fossil record indicates that Crocodilians were much more diverse.
