he paleontological study of Early Liassic Brachiopods from Semur-en-Auxois, stratotype of Sinemurian (Côte d’Or, France) (coll. Mouterde) and from Southern Jura (Ain, France) (coll. Corna ), joined to numerous data about vertical extension and geographical distribution of the different species allow to give a precise brachiopod zonation of Early Lias correlated to the standard zonation based on ammonites. This zonation strongly improves the zonation outlined in 1997 ( alMéras et al ., 1997). The index-species and the faunas collected in these two regions are figured for the first time
