New ammonite faunas have been found in two Alpine units for which no precise biostratigraphic information was previously available. These Early Jurassic (Sinemurian - Pliensbachian) ammonites come from the Lower Austroalpine Err and Middle Penninic Tasna nappes. They allow to precise dating of these two units during Alpine rifting. The new records also complete the information on the ammonite pattern distributions throughout the Alpine range.
